About CTSA

Connecticut Scuba Academy is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides unique vocational & educational opportunities in multiple fields of marine & Aquatic science and conservation. We offer training & Research opportunities to Nonprofits, Public & Private schools, Educational facilities, clubs, and after-school programs.

The Academy's education programs are unique and hands-on; our programs complement the curriculum of the school or organization we are working with and provide educational opportunities to continue in after-school and summer programs.

Courses the Academy offers

  • Recrerational Diver Training

    Whether trying scuba for the first time or becoming a certified diver, the Academy prides itself on surpassing industry standards!

  • Scientific Diver Training

    The Academy's Scientific Diver program meets AAUS & NOAA standards; students will receive a Scientific Research Diver Certification when they complete our course.

  • Public Safety Diver Training

    CTSA dedicates itself to training our Public Safety Divers to the highest standard in the industry. We use ERDI, the largest most recognized training agency in the industry.

Educational/Recreation

The Academy offers multiple programs for youth and adults. Our small classes provide more one on one time with the Instructors giving students a superior learning experience. We have developed custom remote learning programs that exceed anything in the retail scuba industry.

Scientific Diver Program

The Academy is a proud AAUS Organizational member. Our Science diving program follows the American Academy of Underwater Science (AAUS) guidelines. Description: Introduction to scuba diving history, physics, and physiology of diving, dive planning, open-circuit diving equipment, and marine environments. Open-water diving certification possible with successful completion of course. Approved medical questionnaire and liability waiver required.

Public Safety Courses

We are local to the northeast; we offer ERDI courses to any size class from 1 to 20. We offer multiple agency training with other teams so your team will be able to work independently or as part of a multi- district and agency team.
